Tennessee State University hosts a community holiday celebration to give back. December 3rd, TSU will hold the event to encourage students, faculty and staff to donate canned goods, boys and girls gifts, and basic needs supplies to those in need. President Glover, her cabinet, students and staff will also visit an assisted-living facility at 10am to distribute gifts. Senior Odessa Lewis is excited about helping others this holiday season.
“I think it’s important to give to the less fortunate. I mean, ’cause you never know what your situation will be in the next few years…or your parents situation, or your friends or somebody like that.”
To help those wanting to give, Dr. Glover has asked for non-perishable food items, toys for children ages 6 and up, and toiletries and personal items as well.
There will also be a tree-lighting ceremony and pictures with Santa at 5:30pm at the foot of the steps at the circle at the campus center.
