By: Chase McCord

Local prominent pediatrician Dr. Eddie Hamilton pleaded guilty to health care fraud.

The former President of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, admitted to over-billing Tenn-care and other insurance companies hundreds of thousands of dollars for medical testing.

After a thorough investigation, it was revealed that Hamilton’s practice didn’t even own the proper equipment capable of performing the tests for which it billed the insurance companies for.

Hamilton will no longer be able to participate in any Government healthcare programs for 20 years. He will also have to pay out more than 1.6 million dollars in criminal restitution and false claim act damages.
