“Race” Play Opens

The Cox-Lewis Theater hosts the play “Race”, and audiences respond well.  Director of the play professor Marc Payne got the original play from playwright David Mamet.  The Broadway original featured an all-star cast including “Scandal” star Kerry Washington and comedian David Alan Grier.  “Race” touches on several sensitive topics, but sophomore Porchia Carter gained insight that she says was much needed.

“‘Race’ was very educational…I learned a lot about different things within racism and how racism could interfere with relationships.  I really enjoyed the play overall.”

The play shows tonight and Saturday at 7 pm, and a matinee show is at 3 pm on Sunday.
